Living Darwin, Final Scene

アニメーションの説明:

This text passage and the dance that follows is an evocation of Darwin's concept of "natural selection." The dance is literally a 'time step' structure or jazz repetition and revision of a basic step pattern with breaks or variations. My hope was to evoke a sense of geological time and evolution as phenomena that the human imagination can only begin to comprehend with metaphor.
LIVING DARWIN was a devised original full length performance in Virginia Tech's Studio Theatre November 7-11,2009. The piece was part of The Theatre Workshop in Science and and Technology in Society (TWISTS) and performed by VT students, faculty, and guest artists. Ann Kilkelly is the Creative Director of TWISTS; Saul Halfon and Jane Lehr are the co-directors of the project. Ann Kilkelly co-directed and wrote the piece with Carol Burch-Brown, Bob Leonard, and guest artist Celeste Miller.
